While touring one of the cemeteries we came across a lot outside and there were several head stones that looked like stone benches. They came out of the wall. Looking at it closer we found names in the stone. There were around 14 in total. They were of people that were hung in 1692. One in particular was a man named Giles Corey who was crushed to death by stone. A few of names were familiar to me. After thinking about it I realized that those people were the ones hung out of the famous tragic story of the Crucible. It was about a scorned teenager who pretended to see the devil and got her friends to follow suite and cast out any of the townspeople who they didn’t like. Those innocent people all hung because of it including a girl under the age of ten. Sad! It was interesting to see this place and all it stood for.
