Never say Hello
If you really meant goodbye.
In New York there would have been a record this year for not having any snow. 180 year old record to be correct. Last night, we lost. There was white stuff all in the air and we had less than an inch on the ground this morning…..oh well, so much for global warming.

What can I say, I love my job! Working directly with the owner has its advantages. Doing a lot of HR stuff now. Setting up healthcare packages is tough! Interviewing for marketing team next week, as well as interns. My boss is from china and had no idea what an intern is. When I suggested it he couldn’t believe it! Extra points! He also lived in Japan for several years and we talk in Japanese. So my new job description is HR department, English and Japanese liaison, Manager, executive assistant. Our parent company in Japan made 12 Million in revenue last year, this is going to be a great future for me and my boss-

Sasha is going to Florida next week to get some sun. I might take a weekend trip upstate to see my friend as well as my parents. They are retired now- that seems so strange to say.
Happy about the new line up on TV. We are getting a big kick out of “I love New York” total trash. New episodes of the BBC Cash in the Attic, L-Word, Masters of Horror, Hero’s, Jericho, Ugly Betty…. Not to mention “Pan’s Labyrinth” opened up at the mall Wednesday and that is going to be the best. Also Perfume looks great- we shall see!

OK, so today couldn’t go any worse.
The weather is horrible out there today. Black skies, rain, high wind and low clouds. The traffic was a nightmare this morning coming over the bridge. As usual there is always more traffic on Mondays and Fridays, but if it rains, then it is a parking lot. What takes 15 minutes to work took me 1 hour. Sitting in gridlock while avoiding the Westchester psycho drivers weave in and out of lanes is a laugh and dangerous to your health I might add.
Upon arriving at the office, not having outlook work on the computer while your boss is on a business trip until Wednesday is frustrating! The server will not allow me to connect. This was going to be a busy day for me because I am in the middle of reviewing resumes’ for our Marketing department. I am sure there are a lot of them, though I cannot view them. Sucks to be me today.
The weekend was great, though. After all the travel and a long week at work, I got things done in the house that was long overdue. The holidays are in a pile in the street. I took down all the decorations and the tree and threw them out. Vacuuming was a strain with all the needles from the tree everywhere, including my hair.
We had a 5 hour game of Risk at Tommy and Lorie’s Saturday night- fun! Great shopping at a new Chinese Market here near work, fully equipped right down to Sushi grade fish, steamed buns, and Japanese mushrooms and seaweed. We will be eating well this week, that’s for sure. I also managed to go to Costco and get some yummy seafood. They have king crab legs for $9.00/LB, Jumbo shrimp for the same and scallops (bigger than I have ever seen in my life). We will be going over to Tom and Lories for a seafood night sometime next weekend.
We watched snakes on a plane last night- it was very funny. Originally I thought it looked as dumb as a low budget movie on the USA network, but I totally admitted I was wrong. There were a lot of people dying from the snakes that it made it hilarious. In the morning I watched the new season of The L Word and Dirt.
I received my Henna kit in the mail from E-bay also. It is a container and you have several different gage needles on it. When you go to draw on your skin you can control the width of the lines from the needles and they come out professional looking. I have red Henna and also there are 5 design books coming from India. I will apply it to my feet until I find the best ones I like. I am thinking about tattooing my feet with red ink.
We found great ring tones for the phone. I have Fred Estaire’s Heaven on mine from the 1930’s. Tommy got the best one however. When we were over there for thanksgiving he kept singing “Henry the eight I am I am” song while he was eating a turkey leg. A week later we were watching an old episode of the Simpson’s and they did a parody of Homer as Henry the Eight. He was singing the song in the episode so we recorded it on the phone and then sent it to Tom’s e-mail and now it is his ring tone. It sounds great!

Looking forward to leaving the office, curling up on the couch with the cats and watching some silent movies that were recorded on our DVR.
